Three high-altitude firework displays will take place at the entrance of the Saigon River Tunnel (An Khanh Ward), the new city center (Binh Duong Ward), and the central square at Bai Sau (Vung Tau Ward). A low-altitude display will be held at Dam Sen Cultural Park (Binh Thoi Ward).
The fireworks will last 15 minutes, starting at 9 p.m., coordinated by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports and the City Command with support from other units.
Before the fireworks, special art performances will be staged from 7:30 p.m. at three venues: Nguyen Hue Walking Street (Sai Gon Ward), the outdoor stage at the central park of the new city center (Binh Duong Ward), and Thuy Van Square (Vung Tau Ward).
In addition, from August 19 to September 5, exhibitions will be held at Nguyen Hue Walking Street (from Ngo Duc Ke to Ton Duc Thang), Dong Khoi Street (in front of the Department of Culture and Sports, opposite Chi Lang Park), Sai Gon Ward, and No. 1 Ba Cu (Vung Tau Ward).
According to Government Decree 137/2020, during Tet Lunar New Year’s Eve and National Day (September 2), centrally governed cities may host both high- and low-altitude fireworks shows, while provinces are limited to low-altitude shows of no more than 15 minutes. Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are additionally permitted to hold fireworks on April 30, while other provinces may be allowed on special occasions.
